MDGA Virtual Mini Dairy Goat Show
Fall 2013

Ring 2 - Katie Wolf

In selecting Champion, general appearance is a huge factor, and the most correct individuals in general appearance at this point are the three younger animals.  Today I’m going with the junior kid.  He is so correct about his front end, tight in the shoulders and at the point of elbow.  He is correct in his hock, from the side and the rear.  He is deep at the forerib with depth increasing towards the flank.  A very sharp, level kid for Mini-Mancha Champion Buck.

Reserve comes down to the second place in that class and the intermediate kid.  I’m going to stay in the junior kid class and use the second place junior kid for Reserve Champion.  He is deeper in the heartgirth with more extension of brisket, and greater tightness at the point of elbow.  A real eye-catcher in a fine group of bucks.
