MDGA Virtual Mini Dairy Goat Show
Fall 2013

Ring 2 - Katie Wolf

What a group!  Champion selection ultimately comes down to the junior and intermediate kid classes and is very close between these two.  Today I’m going with the junior kid.  She just has SO much power without giving up anything in dairyness.  She has the most width about the chest floor, and carries this into great fullness at the heartgirth, and plenty of spring-of-rib.  She even has an appreciably wide muzzle.  She is correct on her feet and legs and carries plenty of width between the hocks no matter how you look at her.

Reserve Champion again comes down to the intermediate kid class and the second place junior kid.  I’m going to use the intermediate kid.  She has the advantage over the rest of the line in terms of general appearance.  When compared to the junior kid in particular, she is more smoothly blended from neck to shoulders and has a longer, flatter rump.  She’s much sharper and more angular in type than the yearling, and more uphill as well as level across the topline than the senior kid.

Again, nice group of juniors.
