Ring 2 -
Katie Wolf
The 3yo wins the breed today as she has the
best balance of udder support, udder capacity, and beautiful
general appearance.
She has the highest, widest rear udder of the group, and a
longer, smoother, fuller fore udder.
She excels the younger does in body capacity, and is more
level across the topline and uphill to the withers than any
other doe in this group of class winners.
In selecting reserve, the closest
competition is between the yearling and the four-year-old
primarily because of the shape and capacity they show in the
mammary system.
Today I will go with the yearling.
She is showing more height and width of rear udder, and a
more correct, closer teat placement than the four-year-old.
She is also more dairy, showing a longer bone pattern
throughout.
Best udder will also go the the senior
champion, the three-year-old doe, for many of the same reasons
used in selecting her champion.
