I place this class of mini-Nubian
two year olds F, A, B, C, D, E, H, G with F having the 1st
place udder.
F is a strong, top winner of this
class for me. F places over A for her advantage in body
capacity- she is a wider, deeper bodied doe. She also
has an advantage in mammary system- having a higher,
wider attached mammary.
A places over B in a close placing
as these does have trade offs for me. A has an advantage
today over B in dairy strength- showing us a longer,
leaner neck and bone pattern throughout. She is slightly
more level across her rump as well. She will grant some
body depth to B.
B places over C for her strength in
feet and legs- standing on stronger/higher front
pasterns and having rear legs that face more directly
forward. In mammary she also has an udder that is more
symmetrical/balanced with teats that are more correctly
placed inward on the udder floor.
C places over D for being more
level across the rump and for having more dairy strength
and angularity.
D places over E for having more
mammary system capacity. She is also a larger doe with
more body capacity.
E places over H for being freshened
and in milk- showing us a mammary with the capacity to
milk well over a dry doe.
H places over G for having a longer
and more level rump. While she’s not currently in milk
she makes up for the mammary points in dairy strength
over a doe that could have stronger mammary system
attachments and overall udder shape.
I would like the commend G for her
flatness of bone.
